Dawn treats the following conditions for patients aged 8 years old and over:
Breathing and Ears
Coughs, Colds, Flu, Sore throat, Sinusitis, Hay-fever, Ear problems, Asthma, COPD.
Bones and Circulation
Minor injuries, Acute back pain, Sprains, DVT, Leg pain.
Rashes, Boils, Warts, Insect bites, Eczema, Cold sores, Asthletes foot.
Stomach and Digestion
Diarrhoea, Vomiting, Constipation, Thread-worms, Abdominal pain, Piles.
Urine infection, Thrush, Vaginal discharge, Cystitis (Also for men).
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
June is the reception manager at the practice.
June's usual hours are 8.30am - 2.30pm Monday - Friday.
Linda is the prescriptions clerk at the practice although all of the reception team are able to issue repeat prescriptions.
Linda's role is to deal with more complex prescription queries and requests from patients and chemists, working mainly with Sarah and occasionally Gillian.
Linda works full time at the practice Monday - Friday.
Kayleigh is a medical receptionist at the practice but also supports the practice manager with attending IT meetings and seminars as well as the reception manager with ensuring patients are recalled for their required reviews.
Kayleigh works full time Monday - Friday.
Gillian was our part time medical receptionist but is now working full time as our designated practice administrator.
Gillian covers the reception desk at peak times and when the other reception staff are on leave.
Gillian works Monday-Friday
Sarah is one of our full time medical receptionist but her main role is working with Linda as a prescriptions clerk.
Sarah works Monday-Friday
Joanne is one of our new members of staff who has taken over Julie's roles within the practice.
Joanne works Thursday-Friday
Pam is the designated secretary for the practice however, on Fridays and when she is on leave, Sarah covers Pam's post.
